Last night in front of a large and energetic crowd the Richmond Kickers pulled off a come-from-behind 3–1 victory over the Charlotte Eagles to win the USL-2 championship. The Kickers got a number of chances in the first half but thanks to some great goalkeeping from Steward Ceus and a breakaway goal from Diego Martins the Eagles led at halftime 1–0. In the second half the Kickers responded and finally converted one of their many chances as Edson Elcock was able to get one past Ceus in the 63rd minute. The Eagles applied some pressure but the Kickers defense, behind goalie Ronnie Pascale, was able to fend them off. They got the go ahead goal on a free kick by John DiRaimondo in the 83rd minute and then sealed up the game on a penalty kick from man-of-the-match David Bulow in the 86th minute.

The crowd was going wild during the comeback and a large number of fans rushed the field to celebrate when the final whistle sounded! It was a fantastic fan experience and we should acknowledge the Kickers players, the organization, and the fans who came out for making it a great night!
