We’re calling this “Homicide #1” because other violent deaths have either not been confirmed as homicides, or the act itself was committed in 2015.
Victim
Quincy C. Broadnax, 36.
His obituary reads:
Quincy C. Broadnax of Richmond, departed this life on January 3, 2016.
He was preceded in death by father, Robert L. Broadnax, Jr.
He is survived by his significant other, Latisha Vaughan; one son, Samir Vaughan Broadnax; one daughter, Jocelyn Onae’ Sanderson; his mother, Diane Purcell Broadnax; one brother, Wallace L. Galloway; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and friends, among them, Dorisa Harris.

The incident
- Where: 3800 block of Midlothian Turnpike on Southside.
- When: Sunday, January 3rd, at or around 2:18 AM.
- Weapon: Gun, multiple times. He died at the hospital.
