Pleasants moving flagship into the neighborhood

Whole Foods at The Sauer Center will mean relocation for historic Pleasants Hardware store

To make room for the new Whole Foods, Pleasants Hardware announced plans to relocate its flagship store from 2024 W Broad to 4402 W Broad, a spot previously occupied by Motley’s and next to Owen Suter’s Fine Furniture.

[President James T. Hatcher III] expects the new store could draw more shoppers from the area west of I-195 to Willow Lawn, in addition to its core customers in the Fan District, Museum District and Windsor Farms, Hatcher said.

The move will tentatively happen next fall; Pleasants has resided at its current address since 1976. The article doesn’t address potential impacts on Pleasants current West End locations at 5815 Patterson Ave and 423 Ridge Road.
