Here’s what we know so far.
We’re calling this a homicide because it has been officially termed as such by the Richmond Police Department. Before you tell us we’ve missed one–was it actually a death investigation (often self-defense)? Was it within city limits? Did the person die of wounds received in a different year? All of those deaths do not get officially counted as Richmond homicides for this year.

Original — March 25, 2016
Eric A. Banks, 35, had no permanent address.
- Where: 1900 block of Raven Street in Mosby Court in the East End
- When: Thursday, March 24th, around 5:29 PM.
- Weapon: Gun.
From the police on April 22nd, 2016:
Kendell L. Coward, 34, of the 1900 block of Raven Street, and James M. Williams, 36, of the 1900 block of Raven Street, were arrested on April 20 by Major Crimes Detectives. Both men are charged with conspiracy to commit murder.
Keon L. McDonald, 31, of the 600 block of Westover Woods Circle, was arrested on April 21st by the U.S. Marshals Regional Fugitive Task Force. He is charged with conspiracy to commit murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
