Learn about the fundraising programs MARTIN’S and Kroger offer to local non-profits, and check out this week’s best deals on meat, produce, staples, and more.

Did you know both MARTIN’S and Kroger offer fundraising programs for local non-profits? Tax-exempt organizations, like sports teams, churches, and school groups, can earn 5% rewards by selling grocery store gift cards to their supporters.

MARTIN’S program is called Cash for Causes. It sells groups MARTIN’S gift cards at a 5% discount with a $500 minimum purchase.

Through Kroger Cares, Kroger sends organizations re-loadable Kroger gift cards to sell, and tracks the amount purchased/reloaded. When that amount reaches $5000, the organization receives a check for 5% of the total.

Either way, shoppers purchase the gift cards at face value, so it doesn’t cost them anything to support a non-profit while doing their grocery shopping!* In Kroger’s case, the cards also work at Kroger fuel centers.

To enroll your group in Cash for Causes, follow the steps here.

To sign up with Kroger Cares, call 1-800-409-4438 or email midatlanticgiftcards@kroger.com.

If you’re shopping at MARTIN’S, don’t forget to use your mailer booklet coupons for $3 off a $30 purchase, free Ragu pasta sauce, and free pasta this week.

*Assuming they regularly shop at MARTIN’S/Kroger. And technically, it would cost me 5% to participate in such a program because the sweet credit card I normally use has 5% cash back on grocery store purchases.
