1. Romeo & Juliet

Romeo & Juliet! It’s that period retelling of the classic Werewolves vs. Vampire love story Underworld. The show, brought to you by Richmond Shakespeare, opens this Thursday and runs through February 26th. And, if you can hold on to your dang hats, we’ll have a review up for you fine people next week.

2. Heart of Winter Fest III

When the temperature drops and the wind begins to whip, there’s nothing like curling up next to a loved one in the warm, inviting confines of Strange Matter and taking in a show by bands like: Bastard Sapling, Death Crush, Aghast, and Black Anvil. That’s right: it’s time for the third annual Heart of Winter Fest!

3. Movies & Mimosas: Harold and Maude

Ok guys. Sure, thus far I’ve made some jokes. But hear me now! What I am about to say is no joke: Harold and Maude is a perfect movie. Plus, PLUS, the soundtrack is by Cat Stevens! COME ON PEOPLE!

4. Richmond Environmental Film Festival

The 3rd annual Richmond Environmental Film Festival boasts seven movies — including 2010 Best Documentary award winner The Cove, which I haven’t been able to bring myself to watch because dolphins! They have huge brains! Like people! Also, you can bring the kids by at 10am for a free showing of The Lorax.
