The once pop-up only operation will have a brick-and-mortar home on a temporary basis in LUNCH, near Broad and Boulevard.
Richmond’s pop-up only ramen operation, Shoryuken Ramen, announced plans for a temporary home in Scott’s Addition’s staple LUNCH.
Following the footsteps of popular ramen restaurants in NYC such as Yuji Ramen, Shoyuken will have a regular pop-up location for dinner service at LUNCH on Mondays and Tuesdays, during a time in which the restaurant is normally closed for business.
Previously only limited to pop-up events in various locations in Richmond, the three-month arrangement starting in December 2014 will provide a true brick-and-mortar ramenya experience for Richmond diners as well as the test kitchen Chef Will Richardson has been actively looking for.
“My partners and I have been searching for a permanent ramenya space in Richmond and I cannot be more excited for LUNCH to host Shoryuken Ramen during the next three months to help me develop and test the menu. I’m truly grateful,” said Richardson, who currently works at LUNCH.
Rick Lyons, owner of LUNCH and its sister restaurant, SUPPER, is fully supportive of Richardson’s endeavors. “I have been watching Will’s dedication to ramen and his passion for cooking, and am happy to be able to provide a stepping stone for a young, local talent. I believe Japanese ramen is a good fit for LUNCH’s existing audience and Scott’s Addition.”
The first day of ramen service will commence on Monday, December 1st, from 5:00-11:00 PM, continuing through the end of February 2015. Richardson will feature his classic Japanese and fusion ramens for $10 each, in addition to other street food inspired menu items on rotation.
