1. Strange Bedfellows

More improv, more improv, more improv. The Coalition Theater is doing an eight-week Friday night run of half improv and half playwright shows. And it’s amazing and support the local what-so-ever, right?

2. Richmond Ballet’s Studio Two

There is no lack of local performances or local talent in Richmond. And that’s what makes us so great as a city. Besides the great food, and great tattoos and the great deal of local non-profits and great…There’s a lot of great things about living in RIchmond and having the Richmond Ballet just makes it all the better. Studio Two includes a world premiere and an old favorite, and it’s not the type of thing where you have to get dressed up.

  • Through Sunday, March 20th • 11:00 AM – 1:00PM
  • Richmond Centerstage, 600 E. Grace Street
  • $20 – $40

3. Crossroads Art Center Artist Reception and Open House

The Crossroad Art Center is not your average art center. In fact, perhaps it is different in many ways. For instance, on Saturday they’re having a grandiose art show titled “GROWTH” that compiles a few talented local artists in addition to a possible appearance by both the Richmond Magic Club and the International Brotherhood of Magicians. Get excited for an evening full of inspiration and magic!

4. Cat Gang: The Musical

So, in the heap of finishing school work or having a job or coming home to a noisy household or anything else that may bring about work and stress, Going to see live performances have always been a good way to relieve stress and distract the mind from overthinking and over-processing. And also who doesn’t love cats? Unless you’re allergic, which would be very unfortunate. You’ll probably be OK at Cat Gang, though.

  • Saturday, March 19th • from 10:00 – 11:30 PM
  • Coalition theatre, 8 W. Broad Street
  • $10

5. River City Racing Flyball Tournament

Flyball is like the strange, but humorous cousin of both drag car racing and doing suicides for basketball. It’s pretty intense and there are really nice dogs to look at. And who doesn’t like dogs? Unless you’re allergic, which would be very unfortunate. You’ll probably be OK at the Flyball Tournament though.

  • Sunday, March 20th • 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM
  • Chesterfield County Fairgrounds, 103000 Courthouse Road
  • Free!

Bonus Thing: VCU vs. Oregon State

VCU goes headlong into March Madness by playing Oregon State today at 1:30 PM! If they win, they’ll play again on Sunday, so this may be how you spend much of your weekend.
