New Credit Union Nearing Completion in Building of Former Restaurants

The building at 9498 West Broad Street, near West Broad Street and Springfield Road, has seen its fair share of occupants over the past decade. First a Black Olive restaurant, then a Hop’s, the building was then a sports bar called That’s BS: Burgers & Sports, before becoming vacant several years ago.

Local Radio Personalities Host Three-Day Broadcast to Support Food Bank

Popular local radio personalities from 103.7 The River have been broadcasting live since yesterday and will continue to through tomorrow evening at the Kroger at 11895 West Broad Street, across from Short Pump Town Center. Local Travel Insurance Company Accepting Applications for Study Abroad Scholarship

Mondial Assistance USA, a global travel insurance and assistance company with U.S. headquarters in the West End, announced that it is now accepting applications for its 2012 travel scholarship program, ScholarTrips. The program is open to middle and high school students from the city of Richmond and the counties of Henrico, Hanover, Chesterfield, Goochland, Powhatan, New Kent and Charles City. Four recipients will receive scholarships of $2,500 for study abroad programs. The winners will be announced by January 13, 2012.

Governor on Hand as ACAC Breaks Ground on New Fitness Facility

Short Pump Shorts: Framing & Art Gallery Moves, Indian Restaurant Opens & More

A locally-owned custom framing and art store has moved. West End Gallery, which called the Gayton Crossing shopping center home for the past decade, opened in the Shoppes at Westgate, near other well-known local shops Tweed and By Invitation Only, about a week and a half ago. The 2,000 square foot space faces Lauderdale Drive across from Short Pump Town Center.
