4. Civil War & Emancipation Day: the 150th Anniversaries

The Future of Richmond’s Past, a partnership of nearly 20 organizations, presents the 2nd Annual Civil War & Emancipation Day: the 150th Anniversaries. Come see YOUR history in action! This FREE citywide event will bring history to life throughout the city Special programs will be featured that explore this event in the nation’s history. Cannon firing, free Canal Boat rides, historic interpreters, period music, marketplace and children’s games, special exhibits, & artifact washing are a few of the highlights Guided tours of the Richmond Slave Trail, Belle Isle, and Brown’s Island will be offered.
