Jerome Bettis to throw out first pitch at Richmond Flying Squirrels’ opening day

“The Bus” will make a stop in Richmond at The Diamond on April 14th.

Pro Football Hall of Famer Jerome Bettis, better known as “The Bus,” will throw out the first pitch at the Richmond Flying Squirrels’ opening day game April 14th, the MiLB team announced Wednesday. Flying Squirrels mascot Nutzy and Vice President/COO Todd “Parney” Parnell made the announcement Wednesday with a YouTube video, which can be seen below.

Bettis is a former NFL halfback who played for the Los Angeles Rams/St. Louis Rams and Pittsburgh Steelers. He’s ranked sixth on the list of all-time NFL rushing yards leaders.
