UPDATE: Mekong voted best ‘beer bar’ in US
Mekong takes first place in the “Great America Beer Bar” contest.

According to Mekong’s Facebook page, all beers on tap will be $1 this evening to celebrate the win.

Mekong has won first place in the first “Great America Beer Bar” contest. Hosted by CraftBeer.com, over 30,000 votes were counted to name the best craft beer bar in the country.
“Thank you everyone for voting,” posted owner An Mekong on his Facebook page this afternoon. “We are speechless.”
CraftBeer.com readers first nominated over 3,300 bars in the US. Choices were narrowed to the 10 most nominated bars in each of the five geographic regions of the country. Final voting took place from September 13th-20th.
The top three winners:
- Mekong
- Hopcat (Grand Rapids, Michigan)
- The Thirsty Monk (Asheville, North Carolina)
