Pet Owner Charged

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, VA - Patti J. Wheeler, 52, of the 4500 block of Treely Road has been charged with four counts of animal cruelty, three counts of failure to dispose of dead companion animals, failure to obtain a kennel license and destruction of property. The charges stem from the removal of more than 50 cats and four dogs from the Treely Road residence on May 14. Wheeler is scheduled to appear for a pre-trial hearing in Chesterfield County General District Court at 11 a.m. today.
