Virginia keeps coverage of Viagra for state employees

While Virginia is facing insane budget cuts, state employees have one less things to worry about: their access to Viagra.

While Virginia is facing insane budget cuts, state employees have one less things to worry about: their access to Viagra.

From CBS6:

As part of the newly approved budget, lawmakers decided to continue funding coverage of the little blue pill and other erectile dysfunction drugs.

Before leaving office, former Gov. Tim Kaine said that making state workers pay out of pocket for ED drugs and cold medicine, instead of covering them through Virginia’s health insurance program, would save the commonwealth millions of dollars.

So there’s that.

That’s because all the men making these budget decisions need it because they can’t get it up.

  2. What about RISING costs?

  3. According to NBC Washington, cutting coverage of Viagra and similar drugs could have saved Virginia about $3 million a year.

Amazing how all of these male elected officials never have problems finding $ in the budget for issues that concern them. Note lack of funding for breast cancer research, etc… Bastards!

so furloughs for teachers? sure no problem
threatening to sue the federal gov’t re: insurance reform? you betcha
federal funds for abortion? hell no!
    state fund for boners? duh!

First, I didn’t thing the furloughs passed for teachers or public workers, thanks to the General Assembly.

Second, we pay a co-pay for ED drugs (and all other drugs) just like private sector folks who have insurance with drug coverage. For the rank and file, it’s not that big.

Third, we state employees have given up raises for FOUR YEARS (and still pay taxes, by the way, thanks so much) while the public sector still got them, and the Governor still wants to cut more from us every year??? Unbelievable.

Wait…So its OK to approve ED pills for state workers while my Fathers job is at risk due to these budget cuts? This state is absolutely horrible…

Just as long as those ED drugs aren’t used for gay sex. Because THAT would be an outrage.
