To the University and Health System Communities:

The Chesterfield County Chief of Police notified us this morning that VCU Police Chief Willie B. Fuller was arrested yesterday. The Chesterfield County Police Department media advisory states that Chief Fuller is charged “with use of a communications device to solicit sex from a minor and attempted indecent liberties with a minor.”

Pending further information, Chief Fuller has been placed on administrative leave without pay. VCU Captain Carlton Edwards has been named acting Chief.

We regard this situation as extremely serious. We have taken aggressive action to address it, and we will cooperate in all appropriate ways with the Chesterfield County Police investigation.

Sincerely,

Eugene P. Trani
President, Virginia Commonwealth University
and
President and Chair, VCU Health System

Word is Fuller was arrested in an online sting operation during which he was trying to solicit sex from a 14 year old girl.

Yikes, guys. YIKES. VCU just can’t seem to catch a break lately.

  1. I think the question I asked here is now answered. Please rescind all citations given out by VCU police during this chief’s tenure.

    1. 14? That’s just said for any man.
    2. I’m surprised this hasn’t received more coverage. National perhaps?
    3. You’re a damn cap!?! Haven’t you seen that Dateline ish!? Genius.
    4. Hard (no pun intended) to deny this type of offense. Busted.

  4. I feel like cops (or “caps” as some may say) should get DOUBLE PUNISHMENT. Its like regular punishment but … DOUBLE!?

Let’s see…VCU allows drug pusher, Phillip Morris, to oversee medical research, hands out unearned degree, and now this. Corruption trickles down.

Kudos to the cops that busted this pervert!

  6. Not a good career move. Ooops! I need to get back to work.

  7. VCU
    Most corrupt college in Virginia.

I get the impression that no one really wants to look at the patterns of deception by VCU officials. Real estate questions, secret deals with Philip Morris, degree flaps- the public is just supposed to except all these issues as random, isolated incidents. Its time for Richmond and Virginia leaders to recognize that the VCU administration is out of control and needs to be brought to heel. Their irresponsible, arrogant actions are not just hurting surrounding neighborhoods, students and faculty, but the whole City, Commonwealth, and higher education in general.
