So now that our application is in, what happens next?
Here’s what Google says:
Over the coming months, we’ll be reviewing the responses to determine where to build. As we narrow down our choices, we’ll be conducting site visits, meeting with local officials and consulting with third-party organizations. Based on a rigorous review of the data, we will announce our target community or communities by the end of the year.
Looks like we’ve got some waiting to do. So, in the meantime, it wouldn’t hurt for Richmond’s support to keep growing. Even though nominations are closed, you can still stop by the 1GbforRVA Facebook page and become a fan or follow the effort on Twitter.

Good job. I would give it a B+.
It certainly promotes Richmond. I think it could have promoted more future, unique uses for broadband (how much it would help our schools, for example), but again, overall, I thought it was good.
Sincere thanks for the hard work.
Really enjoyed the video. It was a pretty good representation of the blend that our great city has within. Good quality too! Nice editing work.
I’ve watched it twice and can’t help but laugh every time Chief Norwood’s part comes up.
