  1. And guess what else? You don’t even have to be a city resident!! I called back when I ran my first post on this back in June. So if you live in the county and don’t mind a drive, have at.

Which ones have you heard are “sweet”? The one in Fulton is not….

  3. My wife and I took our 1 yr old to the Randolph pool a couple times recently and he thought it was “sweet,” splashing and blowing bubbles and playing with other kids the whole time. The place can get overrun with unsupervised kids and the adult/family swim doesn’t appear to be enforced, but the pool is serving a great purpose to those who show up to use it. To be blunt, white Richmonders (aside from a few punk-rockers) seem to avoid the downtown city pools. Maybe the heat and the cooling potential of a dip in the pool will change that. And maybe the school system will inspire confidence, and city council will effectively serve the people. In the meantime, there’s nothing better than a public pool when it’s hot out. Oh, and Flavor Ice and Yuengling lager.
