Please remember to keep safety in your plans for the holiday weekend. Possessing and setting off fireworks is illegal in Richmond and many parts of Central Virginia. Leave the fireworks shows to the professionals and enjoy the holiday safely!

Here are some specifics to keep in mind in case you are considering adding a little “spark” to your celebrations this weekend:

  • Virginia state laws prohibits any sort of fireworks that leave the ground.
  • You need a permit to use sparklers in the City of Richmond. And in Chesterfield County you can’t partake at all.
  • Violations can cost you up $2500 and A YEAR IN JAIL.
