A weekend of luuuuuuv is upon us. Here are a few things going on around Richmond to make things as lovey dovey as possible.

1. Maymont’s Full Moon Hike

Take a lovely, moonlit stroll through the gardens of Richmond’s go-to outside destination for lovebirds. For added romance, spend the entirety of the hike singing “When the moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie, that’s amore!!!!” I know I would, and I’m sure tour guide Peggy Singlemann will appreciate it. Friday, February 13th from 6 to 9pm, Maymont Grounds and Gardens, $20 per person or $17 for members. Registration ends on February 12th.

2. Robot Hearts Happy Hour at Cha-Cha’s Cantina

Join the staff of RVANews and BILLIONS of other people at Cha-Cha’s Cantina for a Valentine’s Day Happy Hour. Jack himself will be bartending. And makin’ out with lotsa chicks. Mention Robot Hearts and enter to win 1 of 5 prizes. Saturday, February 14th from 4 to 9pm, 1419 East Cary Street, no cover charge.

3. The Valentine Richmond History Center Tour and Cocktails

If boozing it up isn’t your thing, try mixing a little history with a little romance on this two-hour bus tour of the city led by Richmond expert Harry Kollatz, Jr. Cocktails and hors-d’oeuvres at Patrick Henry’s Pub & Grille follow the tour. Saturday, February 14th from 3 to 6pm, 2300 East Broad Street, $60 per person (includes tour, cocktails, food, tax, tip, and admission to the History Center). Call (804) 649-0711 ext. 301 to make reservations.

4. Death Match of Love at Gallery 5

This one makes me blush a little bit to mention. Slash Coleman brings you the Modern Burlesque Brigade for a risque Valentine’s event including “sexy and sultry dancers,” “bawdy comedy,” among other things I’m too embarrassed to talk about. There are two shows: one for couples (6:30 to 8pm) and one for singles (9:30 to 11pm). The night will end with DJ Dome’s Valentines Dance Party. February 14th, 200 West Marshall Street, $15 per person for the shows, $5 for the dance party. Advanced tickets recommended.

5. He’s Just Not That Into You

Hey, it’s a romantic comedy that could appeal both to those pissed of about life and love on Valentine’s Day and those who are looking for a little light, fluffy background noise while they make out with their bf/gf in the theater. Because adults still do that, right? Click here for movie locations and times.
