2. Bio Ritmo CD Release Party. Richmond’s salsa pioneers release a new record that, everyone agrees, is pretty sick. Saturday, Capitol Ale House Music Hall, 10:30pm, 12$ (623 E Main St. Richmond, VA 23219)

3. Lulu’s Sunday Night Jams – Brian Jones brings back Boots of Leather, a jazz trio playing the music of the Velvet Underground – trust me it is as good as it sounds, probably better. Fight the Big Bull also plays. 5$ gets you two bands and an all-you-can-eat buffet. Doors at 7pm, music at 8pm. (21 N 17th St. Richmond, VA 23219)

4. 90’s rock night – 240 minutes of 90’s alternative rock continues at Cous Cous on Saturday night. SPACEHOG!!! as usual it costs 0 dollars. (900 W Franklin St. Richmond, VA 23220)

5. High school football. Richmond has two teams ranked in the Virginia Top Ten polls: Meadowbrook and Varina. Meadowbrook has the week off, but Varina plays Hermitage at home. 7:30pm. (7053 Messer Road Richmond, VA 23231)

Bonus 5. Southside Speedway It costs 10$ for me to go see racing every weekend?! Why haven’t I done this?!? Front gate opens at 6:00pm, qualifying starts at 6:30pm, racing starts at 7:30pm. (12800 Genito Road Midlothian, VA 23112)
