School’s back in session and tons of great things are happening. Drummer Brian Jones launched his Third Tuesday music series and spoke to me about his array of new albums that would be released. The Jazz Beyond Festival brought European avant-garde legend Gunter Hampel to The Camel. Another festival, the Armenian Food Festival, got me thinking about music from that country. Patrick Jarenwattananon over at NPR’s A Blog Supreme launched the Jazz Now project, in which I participated. John Conley’s weekly Davis & Main gig was going strong and began its next series. This blog announced that it would call RVANews its new home!
