Who Is Freddy Cole?

Freddy Cole is the younger brother of legendary vocalist/pianist Nat “King” Cole!

Cole doesn’t apologize for sounding like his brother. His voice is reminiscent of Nat’s but it’s “raspier, smokier, jazzier”. And there are certain unmistakable similarities. He plays piano and sings; and, performs live with guitar and upright bass, just like Nat. But, Freddy Cole has emerged from the awesome shadow of his elder brother with a career of his own that is flourishing. He has recorded nearly 20 CD’s in the past few years. He currently leads a quartet that includes Virginia bassist Elias Bailey. The Freddy Cole Quartet regularly tours the US, Europe, the Far East and South America.
