We’re on the home stretch of 2009 with the month when this site launched. October was filled with huge and wonderful events like the 2nd Street Festival, Folk Festival, and Musicircus (covered here in a John Cage exposition and recapped with photos, video, and audio). RVAJazz presented Glenn Wilson Quartet near the end of the month, which we also previewed, photographed, and filmed a bit. Cous Cous regulars Fight the Big Bull announced their gig would be moving permanently to Balliceaux.

Virginian Darius Jones put out his debut album and spoke about it and his time in Richmond. Snow Panda manipulated Ombak’s music with his unique mixes. UseTheVastness put on a great recital at VCU, asserting themselves as a group that could start doing big things. Finally, the month wrapped up with a busy and music-filled Halloween weekend.
