The CAA had a banner day in the FCS playoffs. #2 Villanova, #4 [ur]Richmond[/ur], #6 William & Mary, and #10 New Hampshire all won and advance to the quarterfinals. A full 50% of the remaining teams are from the CAA.

The CAA not only had success on the field, but on the court. The Spiders and the Tribe both upset SEC (Mizzou) and ACC (Wake) opponents, respectively.

  • The #4 [ur]Spiders[/ur] held on to win 16-13 over #9 Elon. Richmond blocked a last second game-tying field goal attempt to advance to the quarter finals.
  • Over in roundball, [ur]UR[/ur] beat Mizzou in a game close to the last minute, 59-52 and won the South Padre Invitational. Richmond improves to 6-1.
  • [vuu]VUU[/vuu] walks away from their home opener with a win over Fayetteville State University, 87-65. Panthers improve to 2-3
