FOOD! Opening soiree at Empress

The Empress opened recently at 2043 W. Broad Street near Fielden’s. Friends who have been rave about their generous portions and affordable prices, and love the owner Melissa’s friendly and welcoming attitude and her philosophy on food.

It’s hard to keep track of all the new restaurants opening around town, which I count as a good problem to have. The Empress opened recently at 2043 W. Broad Street near Fielden’s. Friends who have been rave about their generous portions and affordable prices, and love the owner Melissa’s friendly and welcoming attitude and her philosophy on food. Their hours are ambitious; they open at 6:30am and stay open until late enough to capture the bar crowd, seven days a week.

I look forward to learning more at their “Grand Soiree” next Wednesday, April 28, from 7pm to 1am. Complimentary heavy hors d’ oeuvres and wine tastings by Cobblestone Cellars will be accompanied by music by DJ Mikemetic and sculptures by Nicholai Jerome.
