5th District

The Central 5th District is the Richmond’s most scattered, straddling the river to include Carytown, Byrd Park, Randolph, City Stadium, and Oregon Hill to the north, and Woodland Heights, Reedy Creek, and part of Swansboro to Hull Street on the south. Unique among all nine of Richmond’s districts, the 5th District does not have a black or white majority in the voting age population (with each making up just under 50%). About 70% of the voting age population is registered to vote.
