Henrico police Lt. Richard Cosby said Henrico and Richmond water-rescue teams were called in by Chesterfield County on Sunday afternoon to help search for a person who could be around the bridge.

Henrico fire personnel found and recovered the body lodged against the island in the middle of the river just east of the bridge, Cosby said.

Chesterfield Lt. Andrea Riesmeyer said the county was not releasing the name of the missing person at this time. She said the initial investigation of the missing-person report had pointed to that area of the river.
