Henrico Police are investigating a robbery that occurred around 4:00 p.m. on Friday afternoon at the Whole Foods in West Broad Village, the second grocery store robbery in Short Pump in three days. The Short Pump Ukrop’s was robbed on Wednesday morning.
Store surveillance cameras show the alleged robber, a white male wearing what appeared to be a blue striped polo shirt, entering the store, just before demanding money from a cashier. The man said he had a gun, but never showed one. No one was hurt in the incident.
Whole Foods is just down the road from the Short Pump Ukrop’s, and in the same development at Dave & Buster’s, where a shooting took place last week. Police say they’re stepping up patrols in the area in response to these crimes.
It’s not known whether the Ukrop’s and Whole Foods robberies are related, but police aren’t ruling out the possibility.
