This Saturday and Sunday, Bloomin’ Days 2010 is being held at Strange’s Garden Center in Short Pump throughout the day on March 27th and 28th. ”We offer a wide range of vendors, exhibits, seminars and demonstrations with free snacks, prizes and fun for the whole family,” Strange’s employee Ginny Gregory said.

“Every year we welcome Hanover Master Gardeners, Richmond Rose Society, Central Virginia Iris Society, and the Virginia Orchid Society to set up displays and answer questions,” Gregory continued.

Representatives from Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden will also be on hand this season.  ”Together we will establish the newest and most unusual plants for 2010 in Lewis Ginter’s gardens.”

The Richmond SPCA, Virginia Blood Services and the Central Virginia Foodbank will be on hand as part of Strange’s non-profit community efforts. The Children’s Museum of Richmond is hosting a tent display to promote their new Short Pump location coming in June. There will be free hot dogs and face painting for the kids.

Open Mic Night returns to the Daily Grind across from Short Pump Town Center Friday night. Richmond band 17th & Main will be on hand to perform several songs and all are invited to sing or perform at the coffeehouse from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
