A water main burst Saturday afternoon in the Breckenridge Apartments off Gaskins road near West Broad Street, flooding roadways and damaging at least one car. Water gushed out for more than two hours, coming close to several apartments but stopping short from flooding any units.

Employees of the complex spent the weekend repairing a five foot hole caused by the break.

Water was restored to residents several hours later after Henrico County Public Utilities brought in equipment to pump the water into a stormwater retention pond. Cleanup continued into Monday morning.
