From the Fan District Association informational email:
As part of the Virginia Museum’s expansion, the Museum proposes to increase the curb cut (”driveway”) at Hanover Avenue and the Boulevard from the original 24 feet to 48 feet wide. The plans call for one entry and two exit lanes off the Boulevard. The City has suggested a counter proposal of 30 feet, with one entry and one exit lane onto the Boulevard. City approval is required since the Boulevard is city property.
Last week the Architectual Review Commission approved the Museum plan by a 4-2 vote. The plan now goes to the Planning Committee on Monday, Oct. 5, at 1:30 pm (5th floor) for a vote. If you are interested in this issue and would like to address the merits, please attend on Monday. FYI, the average Fan lot is about 25 feet wide, so this will be a major change at Boulevard & Hanover.
