With last week’s drubbing of Colonial Heights the springboard for a new spirit of optimism, the Vikings have a chance to open a season 2-0 for the first time in over a decade. Next up for TJ (1-0) is their home-opener this Friday, September 6 at 4PM with the Armstrong Wildcats (0-0). The Wildcats have a 8-game win streak against the Vikings going back to 2004.

The TJ Vikings went 1-9 last season, with the lone victory a season opening win over Colonial Heights (who themselves ended the season 0-10). That win snapped a 46-game losing streak, the tail end of stretch where the Vikings had only won one of their previous 75 games. From 1999 through 2012, the team had 10 winless seasons, and a total of 7 wins.
