Drivers using the I-295 south ramp to Nuckols Road towards Innsbrook will notice a traffic pattern change starting Thursday night. Crews will open a temporary lane to access Nuckols road from I-295 south from 6:00 p.m. May 20 through 6:00 a.m. May 21. Flaggers will be on site to direct traffic and minor delays should be expected.

In addition, the right lane will be closed on Nuckols Road south towards Innsbrook from 9:30 p.m. May 20 through 6:00 a.m. May 21, according to Virginia Department of Transportation spokeswoman Dawn Eischen. Construction crews will apply new asphalt to connect the I-295 ramp to Nuckols Road. Once complete, drivers from I-295 south will have a continuous merge to Nuckols Road south. Ddrivers from the I-295 ramp previously were required to stop before continuing on to Nuckols Road. VDOT says this will result in a smoother flow of traffic from I-295 to Nuckols Road.
