Construction workers have once again blocked off Cherry Street between W. Cary and Cumberland without any warning from VCU or the City. Traffic is detoured down Cumberland.

Once again, VCU’s “community partnership” is a joke and the City appears to have no control over VCU, leaving citizens with no recourse.

Update: I owe an apology to City and VCU for this one. I went back through my email and I did in fact receive notice of the street closing from City Public Works. Yeah, I have got egg on my face for this one. Scott

Street Closure – Cherry Street

WHO: City of Richmond Department of Public Works

WHAT: Street closure

WHEN: April 4, May 2, May 9, and May 16 from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m.

WHERE: Cherry Street between West Cary Street and Cumberland Street

BACKGROUND: This closure will allow crews to install HVAC equipment at the VCU facility located at 911 West Cary Street. Appropriate detour signage will be in place to direct motorists.
