VCU Police will operate the first checkpoint from 7 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 23, along the 800 block of West Franklin Street. The second checkpoint will take place from 11 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 23, until 3 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 24, along the 700 block of West Main Street. Officers will check operator licenses and vehicle registrations and review seatbelt compliance and other safety issues. Any drunken or drug-impaired drivers will be arrested.
