To many this may be old news, but I’m sure there are many out there that have a lot of thoughts about the city’s decision to uphold the permit of the street access car port on Stuart ave. (see the previous discusion prior to the md association meeting here).

Bruce Tyler proposed canceling the city permit allowing the home of a Stuart Ave resident to build a street access car port.

Tyler said the city administration erred when the Department of Public Works issued the encroachment permit because a building permit for the carport had been approved by the Department of Community Development.

He said the city had not issued a similar encroachment permit in the past 20 years when access from the alley has been available.

“This is an accident waiting to happen,” Tyler said.
