Two Short Pump shopping centers are hosting events this coming Saturday, both to benefit great causes. The Shoppes at Westgate is hosting an event to benefit breast cancer research, while Towne Center West aims to assist Richmond’s needy.

The Shoppes At Westgate, located on West Broad Street at Lauderdale Drive, is hosting an event called “Play For The Cure” throughout the day on Saturday.

There will be games for kids from 2:00-5:00 p.m and a cut-a-thon to benefit the Virginia Breast Cancer Foundation at Hair Perfection from 4:30-7:00 p.m. There will also be prizes and raffles from the shopping center’s various tenants.

Towne Center West, on West Broad Street just west of Short Pump Town Center, is hosting their First Annual Fall Festival the same day from 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.

There will be food from various tenants, games, music prizes, a moonwalk, face painting, pony rides, a Safety Fun Bus from the Henrico County Fire Department, a live DJ and other fun family entertainment.

The shopping center will be collecting non-perishable food for the Central Virginia Food Bank as well as used and unwanted furniture for the CARITAS Richmond City-wide Furniture Drive.
