Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, and a fun event at Meadow Farm will show you the Victorian origins of our modern Valentine’s Day celebrations. Want to take your sweetheart on a unique outing downtown? Check out RVA on Ice. Is music your true love? Head to a special Richmond Symphony event at Nordstrom! 1. Annual Maymont Flower & Garden Show

Friday, February 11 through Sunday, February 13 – 22nd

The MAC Events Home Show featuring the Maymont Flower & Garden Show, Virginia’s long-standing harbinger of spring, will offer you the latest in horticulture, gardens, seminars and a marketplace filled with goodies that will have you dreaming of spring. The Maymont Flower Show attracts thousands of flower and garden enthusiasts annually form throughout Virginia, highlighting fabulous display gardens, the Garden Marketplace, top-quality seminars and so much more!

2. Victorian Valentines

Sunday, February 13

The tradition of sending valentines to one’s sweetheart is not a modern idea. Visit Meadow Farm and view some original valentines. You can even make one to send to that special someone. Information: Anna Truong, 501-2130.Sun, Feb 13, 1-3 p.m.Meadow Farm Museum. Free.

3. Nutzy’s Birthday Event

Saturday, February 12

Enjoy inflatables, cake and a birthday card craft table. Fans are asked to bring a birthday gift for Nutzy which will be donated to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Metro Richmond. Wish list items include arts and crafts supplies, sports equipment, electronics and board games.

4. The Richmond Symphony’s Music Marathon

Saturday, February 12

The Richmond Symphony’s Music Marathon brings together members of the Symphony orchestra, staff, chorus, youth orchestra, and board to display their passion for music and dedication to the Richmond Symphony.

5. Ice Skating Downtown

Friday, February 11 through Monday, February 28

A special Valentine’s Day Celebration kicks off on Friday, with a Radio Disney DJ providing music. Also during this ESPN-themed event, skaters will have a chance to win a national grand prize to visit Disney World during “ESPN The Weekend” to meet some of their favorite sports stars! On Saturday, February 12th from 2:00-4:00 pm, enjoy folk, old-time, blues and roots music by Gregg Kimball and his band. Sabrina Jordan from the Shady Grove YMCA will be artist-in-residence and will have arts and crafts activities for kids of all ages.
