1. Glen Allen Day
Saturday, September 18
Glen Allen Day festivities will include a community parade at 9:30 a.m. beginning at the intersection of John Cussons Road and Mountain Road and continuing down Mountain Road to Meadow Farm Museum/Crump Park. Activities in the park include children’s activities, balloons by Miss Sheri the Clown, an arts & crafts and business fair, a live petting zoo, train rides, a classic car show and live musical entertainment featuring local musicians on two stages. Refreshments will be available for purchase at an outdoor food court.

Come join in for the annual celebration of the founding of the Citie of Henricus. Experience the past as 400 years of history come to life! living history reenactments , military drills Virginian Indian activities ,games and crafts and more!

3. Shop For The Cure & Charity Bachelor Auction
Friday, September 17
Downtown Short Pump’s own Editor & Publisher Trevor Dickerson will be one of the guys on auction for this great cause! Proceeds benefit breast cancer awareness and research. Vendors will offer merchandise at Shop For The Cure to benefit the cause as well.

Texas Chow Down: Barbecue & Bluegrass Birthday Bash! Celebrate Whole Foods Market’s 30th Birthday with a Barbecue & Bluegrass Birthday Bash – Texas Style! Listen to the River City Band while chowing down on a delicious platter of pulled pork or beef barbecue. All proceeds go to the Salad Bar Project to help buy salad bars for local schools.

5. Shady Grove Center for Creative Arts Piano & Organ Concert

The Center for Creative Arts at Shady Grove will be hosting a benefit Piano & Organ Concert. Sylvia Cooper & Jim Bennett will be performing music ranging from sacred to ragtime, Brubeck to Beethoven, pop to Gershwin, and jazz to Mozart.
