1. Friday Cheer’s Presents Carbon Leaf

Friday Cheers runs May 6th through June 24th, every Friday at Brown’s Island. This week Carbon Leaf performs.

2. Honk!

Theatre IV’s hit production returns! Honk! is the story of Ugly, whose odd, gawky looks instantly incite prejudice from his family and neighbors. Separated from the farm and pursued by a hungry Cat, Ugly must find his way home. Along his rollicking and harrowing journey he not only discovers his true beauty and glorious destiny, but also finds love and acceptance in all its forms. In 2000, Honk! won the Olivier Award for Best Musical (beating out The Lion King and Mamma Mia!).

3. CYT @ Barnes & Noble

Join CYT Richmond in celebrating 10 years of family fun, excellent theater classes, and great community musicals at Barnes & Noble in Short Pump, all day long! If total sales reach $10,000, the organization will receive a check for $2,000! Be sure to use voucher number 10432979 when you check out! And plan to grab a bite to eat in the Barnes and Noble Cafe because even the food you eat will go towards total sales as long as you use the voucher number.

4. Richmond Symphony

Saturday, May 7

The Richmond Symphony will be performing “Carnival of the Animals.” Meet some of the wonderful members of the animal kingdom in Saint-Saëns’ famous Carnival of the Animals! Each musical movement captures the essence of a particular creature–will you recognize them all? This beloved work is an all-time favorite for introducing children to classical music.

5. Flying Squirrels Game

Friday, May 6 through Sunday, May 8

More fun and wonderful memories for all at the Flying Squirrel Games! On Saturday, there is a FREE clinic. This Saturday local Chevy dealers invite you to participate in the 2011 Chevy Youth Baseball Clinic at The Diamond Saturday, May 7th from 9:30-12:30. This half-day clinic will feature various rotations with experienced staff. Lunch is provided and best of all the Camp is FREE!
