1.Virginia State Fair

Thursday, September 23 through Sunday, October 3

It’s the best of Virginia! Come see Virginia’s finest animals and agriculture, exhibits and shows, toe-tappin’ music, fine arts and crafts, blue ribbon competitions and more! Plan now tobe a part of one of Virginia’s greatest annual traditions since 1854.

  • Cost: Admission to Fair only ranges from $10-$15 One Gate Admission Plus 40 ride tickets, $30 Individual Tickets, $1 each 25 Ride Tickets, $20 60 Ride Tickets. *SPECIAL after 9pm on Friday*. $20 Coupons are available thru October 3, 30 Ride Tickets cost only $20 with a coupon available at McDonald’s.

2. Connor’s Heroes Family Festival

Sunday, September 26

Celebrate National Childhood Cancer Awareness month! Be A Hero! Bring your family to the 1st Annual Connor’s Heroes Family Festival! Music for all! The show will begin with the Jangling Reinharts, followed by 2 of Richmond’s favorite kid bands, Silly Bus and the Diggity Dudes. The Venture Rays and Tin Foil Militia will also perform favorites of young and old alike. Activities will include Kids Jump Zone (moon bounces, obstacle courses, slides and more!) A Community Heroes Corner, Music Town with crafts, face painting and instrument making, Nutzy from Richmond’s Flying Squirrels with wacky games and food and beverage (adult & kid friendly)

3. Bark in the Park

Saturday, September 25

The Division of Recreation and Parks is teaming up with the Henrico Humane Society to offer its 4th Annual Bark in the Park. Bring your best furry friend out and enjoy a day of fun-filled family activities. Enjoy musical entertainment by Random Play, who will keep the crowd entertained with their perfectly blended mix of pop rock! Activities include a 2K walk with your pup, expo of local vendors providing products and services for your favorite pets, a pet costume contest, children’s activities and more! The first 200 dogs registered for the 2K will receive a free bandana.

  • When: 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM
  • Where: Deep Run Park
  • How: Go to the park, if you are registering your dog, see below indoor more info
  • Cost: Free to attend, if you are doing the walk there is a $25 registration fee for the 2K for Paws Walk

4. The Ugly Duckling

5. Art Around The Lake

Over 100 Virginia area artists from Richmond will be here displaying their art at the 31st annual Arts Around the Lake show around Westhampton Lake on the University of Richmond campus. Artists will be displaying and selling their juried artwork in various mediums. Arts Around the Lake is sponsored by the Greater Richmond Alumni Chapter.
