TJ graduates 88% on-time in 2010

The Virginia Department of Education today released on-time graduation numbers for the state, schools systems, and individual schools for the class of 2010. For this class, Richmond Public Schools had an on-time graduation rate of 72% and a cohort graduation rate of 74.6%. The state-wide on-time graduation rate was 85.5%.

Seven city high schools showed gains from last year’s report, including a 13 percent jump at George Wythe which saw its rate increase from 68.67 percent to 81.45 percent. Other Richmond City schools that posted gains include: Open High, 95.83 percent to 100 percent; Franklin Military, 90 percent to 93.75 percent; Thomas Jefferson, 85.78 percent to 88.06 percent; Huguenot, 82.49 percent to 84.59 percent, John Marshall, 74.79 percent to 75.42; and Armstrong, 61.42 percent to 69.29 percent.
