“This is what we’ve been working so hard to do. These kids have worked so hard – probably twice as hard as any other team I’ve coached,” said Thomas Jefferson coach Chad Hornik. “All of us made a commitment and wanted to make sure we had a great start.”

A great start it was for the Vikings as they wasted little time moving the football as quarterback ShaQuan Patterson connected to wide receiver Jalen Johnson on a slant route for 53 yards. Kicker Anas Elkattan converted on the extra point.

Next up for TJ (1-0) is the home-opener on Friday, September 6 4PM with the Armstrong Wildcats (0-0), whose 8-game win streak against the Vikings looks to be ready to end this year…
