The Department of Community Engage- ment at VCU has scheduled Saturday morning, April 14, as our next opportunity to work with conscientious and dedicated VCU students who voluntarily choose to assist us, their neighbors, in cleaning our mutual neighborhood. We gather at Monroe Park at 8:00 a.m. for a delicious free buffet of coffee and breakfast treats, meet our fantastic VCU-Fan Team of energetic players whose mission for the morning is community minded and dedicated service as neighbors.
The Nicole Megaloudis 5K

The VCU Center for Sport Leadership and the Megaloudis Foundation are teaming up to put on the Megaloudis 5k this year on April 14th at 11 am. We hope you all will love to participate in this event either by running, donating, or sponsoring some part of the event. We hope you become a part of this inspirational event many community members are already talking about it and we would love to spread the word further.

Tree Academy @ Byrd Park

Three information lectures. Rex Springston, the Times-Dispatch environmental reporter, is the keynote speaker. Lunch is provided. Receive a “tree degree” certificate. A fee of $40 and advance registration are required. All proceeds support community education and tree planting efforts. A tree walk in the Carillon area will follow at 2:15 p.m. and is open to everyone.
