Eating/walking tour: We’ll mix it up for you along one of Richmond’s most eclectic thoroughfares. You’ll learn secrets from butchers to bakers as well as get a peek at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts’ new sculpture garden. Dogs are invited to join their owners for this walking tour of Hollywood Cemetery, in partnership with the Richmond SPCA. Dogs must have current shots, mix well with others and remain on a leash. Caroline Calouche & Co. present Spring Forward

Caroline Calouche & Co. will present Spring Forward on May 4 & 5 at the Grace Street Theater. This entertaining and inspiring repertory concert will include “Free to Live” , “Space/Time” (a solo work by Leah Cox, former dancer with Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company), “The Tie That Binds”, “Arthropod” and oo-ee-ah-uh.

“Free to Live” features athletic and expressive contemporary dance melded with aerial work on the double sling, aerial cube, bungee and—their invention—the swinging bench. Caroline Calouche and the dancers will explore how different people define the idea of freedom. “We premiered this work in March 2012 and realized that we needed more time to truly dive into this v mast topic,” says Calouche, artistic and executive director. “The dancers and I are very excited to have this opportunity to present version two of the work.”

About Caroline Calouche & Co.
Caroline Calouche & Co. is an aerial and contemporary dance company based in Charlotte, North Carolina. Founded in 2005, Caroline Calouche began with a group of three dancers to debut “Risk” in her hometown, Gastonia, NC. It was in 2006 that she began blending aerial dance with contemporary technique.

Caroline Calouche & Co. was formed with the mission of producing and promoting contemporary dance choreography in conjunction with multi-disciplinary artistic collaborations. The goal is to build cross-cultural dialogues with dance as a means to unite and educate the global community through an exchange of philosophies and methods.

There will be an Open Dress Rehearsal ( Pay What You Can) at 3pm on May 4. Shows are May 4th at 7pm, and May 5th at 3pm & 7pm.
