150th anniversary of the opening of Chimborazo Hospital

The event will include: Ranger guided walking tours of the grounds of Chimborazo Hospital, the Civil War 150th History Mobile, living history volunteers set up under tents portraying Civil War surgeons and a reproduction Civil War ambulance. Also, the Virginia Army National Guard will be setting up a medical tent and have a modern military ambulance to compare military medicine then and now. Finally, from 11:00am to noon, we will have the Medical College of Virginia’s medical helicopter land behind the Chimborazo Medical Museum and illustrate how medical techniques used by the military for transporting and treating wounded have been adopted for civilian use.

Church Hill Chillers Ghost Tour

Spirits represented are George Wythe, Edward Carrington and Elizabeth Arnold Poe. Tours take place every 20min starting at 7:40 p.m.

Meet and greet with Delegate McClellan

There will be a meet&greet with Delegate McClellan on Saturday, October 29 from 10AM-noon at Peter Paul Development Center at 1708 North 22nd Street.

Union Hill Community Garden Planting

This event is Free, with a suggested donation of $5.00. Please tell guests that as long as they are in line by 1:00pm, they will receive a ticket.

Reservations are available for groups of ten or more, up to 100 reserved seats. Permission from the Executive Director is required for any reservations above 100 and smaller than ten. There are no reservations for individuals.
