150th anniversary of the opening of Chimborazo Hospital

The event will include: Ranger guided walking tours of the grounds of Chimborazo Hospital, the Civil War 150th History Mobile, living history volunteers set up under tents portraying Civil War surgeons and a reproduction Civil War ambulance. Also, the Virginia Army National Guard will be setting up a medical tent and have a modern military ambulance to compare military medicine then and now. Finally, from 11:00am to noon, we will have the Medical College of Virginia’s medical helicopter land behind the Chimborazo Medical Museum and illustrate how medical techniques used by the military for transporting and treating wounded have been adopted for civilian use.

Church Hill Chillers Ghost Tour
