Uncivil Wards

The Uncivil Wards tour takes guests on a journey through the section of old Richmond where inmates and patients fought for survival while citizens struggled to cope with and quarter the overwhelming flood of war casualties and POWs, and where slaves were incarcerated while awaiting their fate on the auction block.

Patrick Henry’s Give Me Liberty or Give Me Death Speech Reenactments

St. John’s Church Foundation invites you to join us for historical reenactments of the
Second Virginia Convention of March 1775. In the presence of Washington, Jefferson
and other notable Virginians, Patrick Henry delivered his passionate call for liberty,
uttering the immortal words, “give me liberty or give me death!”

1:00 p.m. Free tickets are distributed at the front door
1:30 p.m. Patriotic music program
2:00 p.m. Reenactment begins

Reenactment Dates: May 29th, June 5th, June 12th, June 19th, June 26th, July 3rd, July 4th, July 10th, July 17th, July 24th, July 31st,
August 7th, August 14th, August 21st, August 28th and September 4th

City Council Formal Meeting

Mon Aug 8 6:00 pm
Every 2nd and 4th Mon – Responsible for deciding official Council action, which includes discussing, adopting, rejecting, and amending laws and approving the budget. Formal meetings include a time for pubic comment and are televised live on the local PBS station and are replayed in Richmond on Government Access Channel 17, beginning at Noon and 7:00 p.m. daily.

The July MPACT/CAPS Meeting will not be held at Chimborazo Elementary in July or August. The July meeting will be held at The Old City Bar (1548 E. Main St) in Shockoe Bottom on July 13, and there will be no meeting in August.

Combined MPACT and CAPS meeting, at Chimborazo Elementary School every 2nd Wednesday of the month.
