How does social power strengthen or weaken a girl’s sense of self? How does 24/7 access to technology complicate the social lives of girls and confound parental boundaries? What can a girl, her family, her friends, and her teachers do to help every girl develop and maintain healthy social power in a 24/7 world?

Join Rosalind Wiseman, renowned authority on the world of adolescence, as she describes the realities of the social landscape that today’s girls face. Along with Ms. Wiseman’s perceptive understanding of the real world of today’s girl, Ms. Wiseman offers strategies and insights for girls, for families, and for educators.

The Social Factor is an interactive evening for mothers* and daughters, ages 9-15. Each participating family will receive a copy of the newly released Boys, Girls and Other Hazardous Materials** and the recently updated Queen Bees and Wannabees: Helping Your Daughter Survive Cliques, Gossip, Boyfriends, and the New Realities of Girl World.

There will be a book signing immediately following the event. Additional copies will be available for purchase.
