About Registration
Walk-ins may be accommodated but pre-registration is highly recommended to guarantee your space. Advance registration is available online only, via credit or check card.

About the Procedure:
The microchip is implanted under the pet’s skin and provides permanent identification if the pet is ever lost or strays from home. Included in the fee is lifetime registration with the 24PetWatch database. Municipal animal control facilities scan pets for microchips upon intake into their shelters, improving the likelihood pets will be reunited with their families.

Eligibility
This clinic is open to residents of the City of Richmond and the counties of Chesterfield, Goochland, Hanover and Henrico. There is no maximum household income limit for this clinic.

Accepted Forms of Payment
The Richmond SPCA accepts cash and credit cards only as payment for services and merchandise. Donations may be made by cash, check or credit card.

Location and Parking
The clinic takes place at the Richmond SPCA’s Robins-Starr Humane Center at 2519 Hermitage Road in Richmond. Parking is free and the facility is handicap accessible.

Why Microchip?
Microchipped pets have a very good chance of recovery when lost because the microchip is a permanent form of identification, which is easily scanned. We encourage both microchip and engraved collar tag identification for your pet, to better his or her chances of being returned to you quickly and safely should you become separated by factors outside of your control.
