From CBS6:

Police say a call from a man claiming he has been bit by a snake near the James River Sunday night may have been a prank call — or that the man may have been able to get help on his own.

As a result, police say they are no longer investigating the incident after Richmond Emergency Crews spent much of Sunday night into Monday morning searching for the man.

Police called in emergency crews around 11 p.m. Sunday night after officials say a man called 911 to report that he had been bitten by a snake in the woods near Hollywood Cemetery and the James River.

Multiple ground crews and a helicopter could be seen searching for the man for about three and a half hours. The search stretched from the Mayo Bridge to the Nickel Bridge.
